seen it,
The best part of the whole movie (hope this doesn't spoil it for those who haven't seen it) was the very end, and begining (same, but running backwards) When the Capitan saw her in the labyrinth, it showed her talking to thin air not the fawn. This leads me to conclude that it was all her imagination. After he shot her, her beautiful thoughts in her last waning moments of life were that of a godless utopia uniting her with her loved ones that had passed away. My teenage daughter cried at the end and so did I. - Lobo , posted 03/23/07

After viewing 'Pan's Labyrinth', I leave the theater with the red stars of propaganda in my eyes. This is a good thing. I find it odd to know, that even though I go to an independent theater, the film is being shown in chain theaters (Ideal grounds for exploiting socialist efforts for capitalist profit while demeaning the message by the ever popular corporate desensitizing mechanism called over exposure.) and gaining as quite a popular movie. This is also good. But my concern (if it is not obvious) is how are patriotic parents of America going to justify that the fascist policies and of this military junta are correct in their attempt to disassemble the socialist militia that are simply occupying a (once free) space. Though the invasion camp was defeated, allowing the socialist group to gain a foot hold in occupying the mountain range, there is a sense that there will be more battles to be won, but by this time, the 'fairytale' of the story has reached it's peak at thus the little Ophelia has gained place in her fathers kingdom. Director Guillermo del Toro did an excellent job- though he isn't a stranger to fairytales. With the great allure engaged with the creation of Blade 2, and Hell Boy, along with talk about a Hell Boy2, We can assume that Guillermo del Toro’s films will not be in short stock anytime soon.
