I am so excited about this class! Liron Peled from Raquy and the Cavemen will be teaching this class exclusively for Brid's Closet and our Meetup group! Bring whatever drums you have and be a part of this class! The class will be approx 1 1/2 to 2 hrs long. Liron and Raquy & the Cavemen perform all around the world teaching and performing. Their shows should not be missed. Here is the groups bio!

Raquy and the Cavemen allow the listener to experience the musical cultures from The Middle East and Egypt and fuse them with Liron Peled's hard rock drumming background. The name Cavemen is appropriate due to the rawness of the beats, and there is also a timeless property to the music that makes it impossible to dislike. The whole experience of the music takes you on a journey to the roots of Middle Eastern drumming and as soon as that kemenche starts flowing the trip goes deeper. Its sound is like a close stare into the eyes and soul of the Middle Eastern culture that lives inside the music. Raquy brings forth the experience of an ancient culture straight to the stage for everyone to reflect, react and rotate to.

The love that each band member has for their instrument is especially evident when they are all on stage. They move fluidly to the enchanted drumming and mystical kemenche. Find one of their shows and be enriched, encouraged and energized.Liron Peled/raquyandthecavemen

We will know where this class will take place as soon as I get a count as to how many ppl are attending! PLEASE pay asap! If there is more than 20 people, we will move the class to Camp Olmstead, which is just a few minutes from the store!

Their 1st CD, "DUST" (© 2003) has reached the top 20 on the CMJ chart for multiple weeks. Their 2nd CD "Jordan" (© 2005) has debuted on the top 30 on the same chart. Their latest CD, "'Naked' - 12 Middle Eastern Drum Solos", was released in January 2007.

They have appeared at Lollapalooza, Central Park Summerstage, FloydFest and PASIC among others. They are performing regularly in the US with occasional tours abroad.
The group has received airplay in the US, Canada, Central America, Israel and Europe.

Liron Peled has been a dominant figure in the Middle-Eastern music scene in the United States as a Percussionist and Composer. He is best known for his participation in the Progressive Middle-Eastern group "Raquy and the Cavemen" with Raquy Danziger, but has also collaborated with Omar Farouk, Yoel Ben Simhon's Sultana Ensemble and many more.

Liron was born in the Golan Heights in Northern Israel. He started playing drumset at 10 years old and grew up on hard rock music and joined the band EMOK with whom he played for 10 years and toured all over the world.
He continued his studies of drum set, classical percussion, xylophone and marimba at the Klor Conservatory, Israel. Liron graduated from "Emek Hahula" School Of Music in Israel in 1997 and moved to NY in 1998 where he began to play Middle-Eastern hand drums.

Liron currently lives in NY where he works as a drummer/percussionist, producer and composer.
